Why ‘All or Nothing’ is Holding You Back

Have you ever said to yourself,
“I’ll start fresh on Monday”? (I know I have!)
Or,
“If I can’t do a full workout, what’s the point?” (Yep, done that myself too 🤦♂️)
That’s all-or-nothing thinking — and it’s one of the biggest things holding people back from building lasting progress.
At GB1fitness, I see it all the time here in Milton Keynes.
People who want to be healthier, stronger, more confident — but they’ve been trapped in a cycle of going “all in” for a few weeks… then burning out or giving up when life gets in the way.
Sound familiar?
The Problem with ‘All or Nothing’
This mindset tells you:
If you can’t do it perfectly, don’t bother doing it at all.
If you miss one session or eat one off-plan meal, you’ve failed.
If life gets messy, you should quit and restart “when things calm down.”
But here’s the truth:
Life never really calms down.
And perfection isn’t what gets you results — consistency does.
I'm going to repeat this as it's absolutely vital...
CONSISTENCY DOES!

What If You Just Did Something?
What if:
You walked for 10 minutes instead of skipping the gym completely?
You joined a session even when your stressed from a days work?
You kept showing up — not perfectly, but persistently?
That’s where change happens.
At GB1fitness, we’re not here to push extremes.
We’re here to help you train smart, sustainably, and consistently with inclusive fitness classes that support real life.
Progress is made:
In the moments you almost cancel, but still show up.
In the small wins that add up over time.
In the shift from “I have to do it all” to “I’ll do what I can today.”
If You’re Done With the All-or-Nothing Trap…
You’ll fit in perfectly here.
👊 We train for life — not just for Instagram highlights (Although seeing them too are cool 👍).
💬 Our sessions are real, honest, and built to support all levels from beginners to returners.
🔥 Your journey is welcome, no matter where you’re starting from.

Did you miss why Progress over Perfection is important?
I used to have an all or nothing mentality but now realise that doing something is better than doing nothing. For example I often go for a run in my lunch break even if I can only fit in a 20 to 30 minute session because even if doesn’t seem a lot it’s better than spending that time being sedentary.
